Chris Doucet

FOUNDING / MANAGING BROKER

I came by my love of homes early. Moving every few years as a child, I was always excited by the prospect of weighing in on what house my parents should buy and using my artistic flair to help with the decorating--and not just my own bedroom.

I graduated with a BFA in Design and started my career in Advertising and Marketing. An early mentor suggested that I should buy a fixer property as my first real estate purchase. I did so and have been working in this business as a buyer, seller, designer, and agent ever since. I am proud to have been a Founding Member of two local luxury brokerages.

I am passionate about creating the "Wow" factor in the listings that I represent. Using my design, remodeling, and staging skills, I create a complete vision to present the home for the targeted buyer to fall in love. This can mean a strategic remodel or some minor "fluffing". It pays off by getting the highest price and the quickest sale.

There is no substitute for being known and respected within the agent community. Cordial collaboration is the key to getting a transaction closed with the least amount of angst. When it comes to negotiating the best offer, I am your strongest advocate.

Marketing is my passion, from helping to create the right ambiance, branding the home (perhaps giving it a name and even a logo), staging, photos and videos, and selecting the advertising channels that will make the most impact.

On the buyer side - I listen. I ask questions during the showings. Likes and dislikes, what is important, how does it feel? Of course, I can present facts and point out the options, but how it feels to a buyer is most important.

I have lived in the Seattle area for over 40 years and in real estate for 3 decades. I know most neighborhoods intimately; like alternate routes during rush hour, the best local restaurants, the quality of the schools, and what makes Ravenna different than Ballard.  In addition to my deep familiarity with the Seattle area, my commitment to community engagement has led me to actively participate in multiple volunteer commitments. One particularly rewarding experience has me busy EVERY Friday afternoon at Children’s Hospital, where I have the privilege of holding sick babies for care and comfort. Like real estate, it is about being there for a need and providing support--something that I take pride in.

In a highly competitive market, my three decades of experience makes a difference. Paired with the real estate technology strength of Compass, it is a winning combination.

FUN FACTS ABOUT CHRIS

  • I have known my team member, Stephanie Stanford, since she was about 10 years old. Her mom, Carol, and I met in Fashion Group in the early 80s and have been friends ever since. It is amazing to have that history with a business partner.

  • Speaking of Fashion Group, I was honored to be voted Best Dressed Real Estate Agent for the greater Seattle area in 2024.

  • I am a baby whisperer. That’s what they call me at Children’s Hospital where I am a long time volunteer holding sick infants every Friday afternoon.

  • I was one of the first women to heli ski in the Canadian Rockies. A girlfriend from Sun Valley and I roughed it in Quonset huts. A far cry from the luxury remote ski lodges of today.

  • I have lost track of the number, but I have remodeled, staged or updated close to 200 homes in my long career.

  • My first language is French.

  • I attended 12 different schools from Kindergarten to college graduation.
